Rolling Stone’s Picks for Greatest TV Shows Ever… I Don’t Think So

Whenever I see “Rolling Stone’s“100 Greatest” anything I cringe. They never ever seem to get it right with music. With hip hop music in particular. However I gave this list a chance. While I did not agree with the whole thing. It is hard to argue with the top of the list but we are going to do it any way. It is very clear from the start that this list was made by people that have not watched classic TV.

There is no way that Cosby show does not make it in the top 10. We are not talking about the man. We are talking about the show. Star Trek is on the list, however it was Star Trek: The Next Generation that welcomed the world to the future. I find it amusing how many “critically acclaimed” programs are on currently. This is very misleading, critics often overlook great work in favor of the perceived norm. I mean that is the only way to explain the Academy Awards yearly dismissal of black talent right? But I digress,  Rolling Stone took a poll of “actors, writers, producers, critics, showrunners” in order to put the list.
